1 AN ACT concerning regulation.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by
5 adding Section 356z.61 as follows:
6 (215 ILCS 5/356z.61 new)
7 Sec. 356z.61. Coverage for children with neuromuscular,
8 neurological, or cognitive impairment. A group or individual
9 policy of accident and health insurance amended, delivered,
10 issued, or renewed on or after the effective date of this
11 amendatory Act of the 103rd General Assembly shall provide
12 coverage for therapy, diagnostic testing, and equipment
13 necessary to increase quality of life for children who have
14 been clinically or genetically diagnosed with any disease,
15 syndrome, or disorder that includes low tone neuromuscular
16 impairment, neurological impairment, or cognitive impairment.
17 This coverage shall include 315 combined therapy sessions per
18 year.
