4-AN ACT concerning regulation.
5-Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
6-represented in the General Assembly:
7-Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by
8-adding Section 356z.61 as follows:
9-(215 ILCS 5/356z.61 new)
10-Sec. 356z.61. Coverage for children with neuromuscular,
11-neurological, or cognitive impairment. A group or individual
12-policy of accident and health insurance amended, delivered,
13-issued, or renewed on or after January 1, 2025 shall provide
14-coverage for therapy, diagnostic testing, and equipment
15-necessary to increase quality of life for children who have
16-been clinically or genetically diagnosed with any disease,
17-syndrome, or disorder that includes low tone neuromuscular
18-impairment, neurological impairment, or cognitive impairment.
