HB3809 Engrossed LRB103 29412 BMS 55803 b
1 AN ACT concerning regulation.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by
5 adding Section 356z.61 as follows:
6 (215 ILCS 5/356z.61 new)
7 Sec. 356z.61. Coverage for children with neuromuscular,
8 neurological, or cognitive impairment. A group or individual
9 policy of accident and health insurance amended, delivered,
10 issued, or renewed on or after January 1, 2025 shall provide
11 coverage for therapy, diagnostic testing, and equipment
12 necessary to increase quality of life for children who have
13 been clinically or genetically diagnosed with any disease,
14 syndrome, or disorder that includes low tone neuromuscular
15 impairment, neurological impairment, or cognitive impairment.
