11	11	1 AN ACT concerning local government.
12	12	2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
13	13	3 represented in the General Assembly:
14	14	4 Section 5. The Sanitary District Act of 1936 is amended by
15	15	5 changing Section 4.1 as follows:
16	16	6 (70 ILCS 2805/4.1) (from Ch. 42, par. 415.1)
17	17	7 Sec. 4.1. The board of trustees of any sanitary district
18	18	8 may arrange to provide for the benefit of employees and
19	19	9 trustees of the sanitary district group life, health,
20	20	10 accident, hospital and medical insurance, or any one or any
21	21	11 combination of such types of insurance. Such insurance may
22	22	12 include provision for employees and trustees who rely on
23	23	13 treatment by prayer or spiritual means alone for healing in
24	24	14 accordance with the tenets and practice of a well recognized
25	25	15 religious denomination. The board of trustees may provide for
26	26	16 payment by the sanitary district of the premium or charge for
27	27	17 such insurance.
28	28	18 On and after January 1, 2024, no benefit under this
29	29	19 Section may be provided to trustees.
30	30	20 If the board of trustees do not provide for a plan pursuant
31	31	21 to which the sanitary district pays the premium or charge for
32	32	22 any group insurance plan, the board of trustees may provide
33	33	23 for the withholding and deducting from the compensation of

71	71	4 The board of trustees may exercise the powers granted in
72	72	5 this section only if the kinds of such group insurance are
73	73	6 obtained from any insurance company authorized to do business
74	74	7 in the State of Illinois or any other organization or service
75	75	8 offering similar coverage. The board of trustees may enact an
76	76	9 ordinance prescribing the method of operations of such
77	77	10 insurance program.

79	79	12 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
