11	11	1 AN ACT concerning local government.
12	12	2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
13	13	3 represented in the General Assembly:
14	14	4 Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the Local
15	15	5 Official Vacancy Posting Act.
16	16	6 Section 5. Posting of elected official vacancies. A unit
17	17	7 of local government shall post every elected official vacancy
18	18	8 on its website, if the website is maintained by the unit of
19	19	9 local government's full-time staff. The posting shall remain
20	20	10 on the website until the vacancy is filled.
21	21	11 Section 10. Posting on county website. In addition to the
22	22	12 postings required under Section 5, a unit of local government
23	23	13 shall submit every elected official vacancy to the county
24	24	14 clerk in the county in which the unit is located and the county
25	25	15 clerk shall post the information on the county website. The
26	26	16 posting shall remain on the website until the unit of local
27	27	17 government informs the county clerk that the vacancy has been
28	28	18 filled.
29	29	19 Section 15. Filling of elected official vacancies after
30	30	20 posting. If the unit of local government has a website

73	73	8 Section 90. Home rule. A home rule unit may not regulate
74	74	9 the posting of elected official vacancies in a manner
75	75	10 inconsistent with this Act. This Act is a limitation under
76	76	11 subsection (i) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois
77	77	12 Constitution on the concurrent exercise by home rule units of
78	78	13 powers and functions exercised by the State.
