4		-	AN ACT concerning health.
5		-	Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
6		-	represented in the General Assembly:
7		-	Section 5. The University of Illinois Hospital Act is
8		-	amended by adding Section 8h as follows:
9		-	(110 ILCS 330/8h new)
10		-	Sec. 8h. Emergency room treatment; delay of treatment
11		-	prohibition. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the
12		-	contrary, the University of Illinois Hospital, in accordance
13		-	with Section 1395dd(a) and 1395dd(b) of the Social Security
14		-	Act, shall not delay provisions of a required appropriate
15		-	medical screening examination or further medical examination
16		-	and treatment for a patient in a University of Illinois
17		-	Hospital emergency room in order to inquire about the
18		-	individual's method of payment or insurance status.
19		-	Section 10. The Hospital Licensing Act is amended by
20		-	adding Section 6.34 as follows:
21		-	(210 ILCS 85/6.34 new)
22		-	Sec. 6.34. Emergency room treatment; delay of treatment
23		-	prohibition. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the
24		-	contrary, a hospital licensed under this Act, in accordance
