11	11	1 AN ACT concerning conservation.
12	12	2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
13	13	3 represented in the General Assembly:
14	14	4 Section 5. The Illinois Natural Areas Stewardship Act is
15	15	5 amended by adding Section 25.1 as follows:
16	16	6 (525 ILCS 31/25.1 new)
17	17	7 Sec. 25.1. Notification to persons who reside in
18	18	8 Conservation Opportunity Areas.
19	19	9 (a) In this Section, "Conservation Opportunity Area" means
20	20	10 an area identified in the Illinois Wildlife Action Plan where
21	21	11 ecological and social conditions align to provide
22	22	12 opportunities for stewardship and recovery of species of
23	23	13 greatest conservation need and their habitats as determined by
24	24	14 the Department.
25	25	15 (b) The Department shall notify all persons residing in a
26	26	16 Conservation Opportunity Area that they reside in a
27	27	17 Conservation Opportunity Area. The Department shall send one
28	28	18 notice per household. The Department shall determine the
29	29	19 content of the notice and the manner of notification.
