Provides that a contractor or person who fails to comply with the provisions may be subject to a fine of $250 or suspension of the contractor's or person's driving privileges. 1111 1 AN ACT concerning transportation.
1212 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
1313 3 represented in the General Assembly:
1414 4 Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding
1515 5 Section 11-1433 as follows:
1616 6 (625 ILCS 5/11-1433 new)
1717 7 Sec. 11-1433. Third-party delivery service; zero-emission
1818 8 deliveries.
1919 9 (a) As used in this Section, "third-party delivery
2020 10 service" has the meaning given to that term under the Fair Food
2121 11 and Retail Delivery Act.
2222 12 (b) A contractor or person employed to deliver goods from
2323 13 a store or restaurant through a third-party delivery service
2424 14 shall use a non-carbon emitting mode of transportation while
2525 15 making such deliveries.
2626 16 (c) A contractor or person that violates this Section may
2727 17 be subject to a fine of $250 or suspension of the contractor's
2828 18 or person's driver's license.
2929 19 (d) This Section shall only apply to counties with a
3030 20 population of 3,000,000 or more.
3131 21 (e) A home rule municipality may not regulate deliveries
3232 22 pertaining to third-party delivery services in a manner
3333 23 inconsistent with this Section. This Section is a limitation
