4-AN ACT concerning regulation.
5-Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
6-represented in the General Assembly:
7-Section 5. The Barber, Cosmetology, Esthetics, Hair
8-Braiding, and Nail Technology Act of 1985 is amended by adding
9-Sections 2-12, 3-11, and 3-12 as follows:
10-(225 ILCS 410/2-12 new)
11-Sec. 2-12. Licensed cosmetology teacher seeking license as
12-a barber teacher. A licensed cosmetology teacher who submits
13-to the Department an application for licensure as a barber
14-teacher must meet all requirements of this Act for licensure
15-as a barber teacher, except that an applicant who has at least
16-3 years of experience as a licensed cosmetology teacher shall
17-be given credit for hours of instruction completed for his or
18-her cosmetology teacher license in subjects that are common to
19-both barbering and cosmetology in the supplemental barber
20-course. The Department shall provide for the implementation of
21-this provision by rule.
