11	11	1 AN ACT concerning regulation.
12	12	2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
13	13	3 represented in the General Assembly:
14	14	4 Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by
15	15	5 adding Section 356z.71 as follows:
16	16	6 (215 ILCS 5/356z.71 new)
17	17	7 Sec. 356z.71. Coverage or reimbursement of gym membership.
18	18	8 (a) In this Section, "gym membership" means the regular
19	19	9 fee charged to the general public for entrance and usage of a
20	20	10 facility containing machines and other equipment used for
21	21	11 exercise and physical training, including, but not limited to,
22	22	12 machines for exercising individual muscles, treadmills or
23	23	13 other options for cardiovascular exercise, and free weights.
24	24	14 (b) A group or individual policy of accident and health
25	25	15 insurance or managed care plan that is amended, delivered,
26	26	16 issued, or renewed on or after January 1, 2025 shall provide
27	27	17 coverage or reimbursement for gym memberships. The coverage or
28	28	18 reimbursement required under this Section is limited to $50
