SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED: 
 
Appropriates $1,000,000 to the Department of Commerce and 
Economic Opportunity to make grants to child care providers who 
offer non-traditional hours of care for the children of first 
responders and trade workers. Effective July 1, 2024.

  AN ACT concerning appropriations. 1 
 
  Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented 2 
in the General Assembly:  3 
 
  Section 5. The amount of $1,000,000 , or so much of that 4 
amount as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General 5 
Revenue Fund to the Department of Commerce and Economic 6 
Opportunity to make grants to child care providers who offer 7 
non-traditional hours of care for the children of first 8 
responders and trade workers. 9 
 
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, 10 
2024. 11
