15	15	1 AN ACT concerning local government.
16	16	2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
17	17	3 represented in the General Assembly:
18	18	4 Section 5. The Metropolitan Transit Authority Act is
19	19	5 amended by changing Section 51 as follows:

21	21	7 Sec. 51. Free and reduced fare services; eligibility.
22	22	8 (a) Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, no later than
23	23	9 60 days following January 18, 2008 (the effective date of
24	24	10 Public Act 95-708) this amendatory Act of the 95th General
25	25	11 Assembly and until subsection (b) is implemented, any fixed
26	26	12 route public transportation services provided by, or under
27	27	13 grant or purchase of service contracts of, the Board shall be
28	28	14 provided without charge to all senior citizens of the
29	29	15 Metropolitan Region (as such term is defined in Section 1.03
30	30	16 of the Regional Transportation Authority Act 70 ILCS
31	31	17 3615/1.03) aged 65 and older, under such conditions as shall
32	32	18 be prescribed by the Board.
33	33	19 (b) Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, no later than
34	34	20 180 days following February 14, 2011 (the effective date of
35	35	21 Public Act 96-1527) this amendatory Act of the 96th General
36	36	22 Assembly, any fixed route public transportation services

83	83	2 citizens aged 65 and older whose income does not exceed 105% of
84	84	3 who meet the income eligibility limitation set forth in
85	85	4 subsection (a-5) of Section 4 of the Senior Citizens and
86	86	5 Persons with Disabilities Property Tax Relief Act, under such
87	87	6 conditions as shall be prescribed by the Board. The Department
88	88	7 on Aging shall furnish all information reasonably necessary to
89	89	8 determine eligibility, including updated lists of individuals
90	90	9 who are eligible for services without charge under this
91	91	10 Section. After an initial eligibility determination is made,
92	92	11 an individual's eligibility for free services shall
93	93	12 automatically renew every 5 years after receipt by the
94	94	13 Authority of a copy of the individual's government-issued
95	95	14 identification card validating Illinois residency. Nothing in
96	96	15 this Section shall relieve the Board from providing reduced
97	97	16 fares as may be required by federal law.
98	98	17 (c) The Board shall partner with the City of Chicago to
99	99	18 provide transportation at reduced fares for participants in
100	100	19 programs that offer employment and internship opportunities to
101	101	20 youth and young adults ages 14 through 24.

134	134	19 eligibility limitation set forth in subsection (a-5) of
135	135	20 Section 4 of the Senior Citizens and Persons with Disabilities
136	136	21 Property Tax Relief Act, under such conditions as shall be
137	137	22 prescribed by the Suburban Bus Board. The Department on Aging
138	138	23 shall furnish all information reasonably necessary to
