4-AN ACT concerning regulation.
5-Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
6-represented in the General Assembly:
7-Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by
8-adding Section 143.21d as follows:
9-(215 ILCS 5/143.21d new)
10-Sec. 143.21d. Sewer backup and sump pump overflow
11-coverage; notice.
12-(a) In response to all applications for homeowners
13-insurance, as defined in paragraph (2) of Section 523,
14-received by an insurance company, the insurance company shall
15-provide the applicant information regarding the availability
16-of coverage for loss caused by a sewer backup or overflow from
17-a sump pump, including the coverage limits and costs thereof.
18-(b) At least 30 days prior to each renewal of any policy of
19-homeowners insurance, as defined in paragraph (2) of Section
20-523, the insurance company shall provide the insured with
21-information regarding the insured's existing coverage and
22-available coverage for loss caused by a sewer backup or
23-overflow from a sump pump, including the coverage limits and
24-costs thereof.

4+2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
