The sum of $6,203,622,413, or so much thereof 7 as may be necessary, is appropriated from the Common School 8 Fund to the Teachers’ Retirement System of the State of Illinois 9 for the State’s contribution, as provided by law. 10 Section 5. The sum of $300,000, or so much thereof as may 11 be necessary, is appropriated from the Education Assistance 12 Fund to the Teachers’ Retirement System of the State of Illinois 13 for additional costs due to the establishment of minimum 14 retirement allowances pursuant to Sections 16 -136.2 and 16-15 136.3 of the Illinois Pension Code. 16 Section 10. The sum of $475,000, or so much thereof as may 17 be necessary, is appropriated from the Common School Fund to 18 the Teachers’ Retirement System of the State of Illinois for 19 the employer contributions required by the State as an employer 20 of teachers described under subsection (e) or subsection (f) 21 of Section 16-158 of the Illinois Pension Code. 22 HB5739 -21- OMB103 00361 LCN 45361 b Section 15. The amount of $113,815,903, or so much thereof 1 as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 2 Fund to the Teachers’ Retirement Syst em of the State of Illinois 3 for deposit into the Teacher Health Insurance Security Fund as 4 the State’s contribution for teachers’ health insurance. 5 Section 20. The amount of $15,195,000, or so much thereof 6 as may be necessary, is appropriated from the Common School 7 Fund to the Public School Teachers’ Pension and Retirement Fund 8 of Chicago for the State’s contribution pursuant to subsection 9 (c) of Section 17-127 of the Illinois Pension Code. 10 Section 25. The amount of $338,683,000, or so much thereof 11 as may be necessary, is appropriated from the Common School 12 Fund to the Public School Teachers’ Pension and Retirement Fund 13 of Chicago for the State’s contribution pursuant to paragraph 14 (2) of subsection (d) of Section 17 -127 of the Illinois Pensio n 15 Code. 16 Section 999. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, 17 2024. 18
