Prohibits, until February 1, 2027, the Chicago Board of Education from closing any attendance center within the school district that has selective admission requirements that are approved by the Board. Prohibits, until February 1, 2027, the Board from changing the standards for admission to any attendance center within the school district that has selective admission requirements that are approved by the Board. Provides that, notwithstanding any other provision of the Code, the Board may not take any action, until February 1, 2027, that results in a decrease in either the total amount or percentage of funds allocated to an attendance center within the school district that has selective admission requirements that are approved by the Board. 11	11	1 AN ACT concerning education.
12	12	2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
13	13	3 represented in the General Assembly:
14	14	4 Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section
15	15	5 34-18.85 as follows:
16	16	6 (105 ILCS 5/34-18.85 new)
17	17	7 Sec. 34-18.85. Selective enrollment schools; moratorium on
18	18	8 closures, changes to standards of admission, and decreases in
19	19	9 funding.
20	20	10 (a) Until February 1, 2027, the Board may not close any
21	21	11 attendance center within the school district that has
22	22	12 selective admission requirements that are approved by the
23	23	13 Board.
24	24	14 (b) Until February 1, 2027, the Board may not change the
25	25	15 standards for admission to any attendance center within the
26	26	16 school district that has selective admission requirements that
27	27	17 are approved by the Board.
28	28	18 (c) Notwithstanding any other provision of this Code, the
29	29	19 Board may not take any action, until February 1, 2027, that
30	30	20 results in a decrease in either the total amount or percentage
31	31	21 of funds allocated to an attendance center within the school
32	32	22 district that has selective admission requirements that are
33	33	23 approved by the Board.
