1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Jonathan
4 L. Melson, who passed away on March 31, 2023; and
5 WHEREAS, Jonathan Melson was a devoted, proud, and loving
6 father and a personable, caring, and outgoing human being; he
7 was an amazing cook, who created recipes filled with love; and
8 WHEREAS, Jonathan Melson volunteered his time coaching
9 Jackie Robinson Jacquar's Pee Wee League; he had a zest for
10 living, a strong work ethic, and a love for people; and
11 WHEREAS, Jonathan Melson was affectionately known as "Chi
12 City"; he committed to his faith at an early age and throughout
13 his life, was surrounded by a loving family with a deep faith;
14 and
15 WHEREAS, Jonathan Melson enjoyed following sports,
16 especially football; he loved the City of Chicago and was a fan
17 of all of its teams; and
18 WHEREAS, Jonathan Melson is survived by numerous family
19 members and friends; therefore, be it

1 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
2 HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
3 we mourn the passing of Jonathan L. Melson and extend our
4 sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
5 and loved him; and be it further
6 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7 presented to the family of Jonathan Melson as an expression of
8 our deepest sympathy.
