4	4	2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
5	5	3 Representatives wish to congratulate the Arab American
6	6	4 Democratic Club on the occasion of its 40th anniversary; and
7	7	5 WHEREAS, The Arab American Democratic Club holds the
8	8	6 distinguished honor of being the very first Arab organization
9	9	7 of its kind in the State of Illinois and proudly remains the
10	10	8 longest-standing Arab organization in the region; and
11	11	9 WHEREAS, The Arab American Democratic Club was founded by
12	12	10 the visionary leader Samir Khalil and the late Miriam Ziyad,
13	13	11 pioneers who recognized the need for a platform that would
14	14	12 empower Arab Americans, celebrate their cultural heritage, and
15	15	13 advocate for their rightful place in the diverse tapestry of
16	16	14 Illinois; and
17	17	15 WHEREAS, Throughout its 40-year history, the Arab American
18	18	16 Democratic Club has remained unwavering in its commitment to
19	19	17 fostering civic engagement, promoting diversity, and advancing
20	20	18 the interests of Arab Americans, setting an inspiring example
21	21	19 for future generations; and
22	22	20 WHEREAS, The Arab American Democratic Club has not only
23	23	21 served as a vital pillar of support for the Arab American

36	36	5 WHEREAS, The Arab American Democratic Club has
37	37	6 significantly contributed to strengthening democracy through
38	38	7 leading efforts to increase voter participation, supporting
39	39	8 candidates who uphold its values, and advocating for policies
40	40	9 that ensure justice and equity for all; and
41	41	10 WHEREAS, The Arab American Democratic Club has played an
42	42	11 instrumental role in shaping the history and future of
43	43	12 Illinois, enriching the cultural fabric of the State, and
44	44	13 fostering a sense of pride and belonging for Arab Americans;

47	47	16 anniversary is a historic milestone and an occasion to
