1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Christa
4 Boden of Chicago, who passed away on October 20, 2023; and
5 WHEREAS, Christa Boden was born in Germany to Wilhelm and
6 Frieda (Kollak) Reinecke on January 24, 1937; and
7 WHEREAS, Christa Boden was affectionately known as "Oma"
8 to her grandchildren; she especially enjoyed gathering with
9 friends and family; and
10 WHEREAS, Christa Boden loved traveling the world with her
11 husband, and her hobbies included ballroom dancing, biking,
12 and scrapbooking; and
13 WHEREAS, Christa Boden was preceded in death by her
14 parents and her siblings, Wilhelm, Waldtraut, and Frieda
15 Reinecke; and
16 WHEREAS, Christa Boden is survived by her husband of 67
17 years, Hans Boden; her daughters, Crystal (Don) Mason and Joan
18 (Jim) Capodice; her grandchildren, Eric Herrera, Brittney
19 (Nick) Balduc, and Scott Capodice; her great-grandchildren,
20 Natalia, Niklas, Logan, Lucas, Leighton, and Lila; her

1 brother, Wilfried (Monika) Reinecke; and many loving nieces,
2 nephews, and friends; therefore, be it
3 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
4 HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
5 we mourn the passing of Christa Boden and extend our sincere
6 condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
7 her; and be it further
