44 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
55 3 Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Charles
66 4 James "Chas" Hudson Jr., who passed away on October 20, 2023;

88 6 WHEREAS, Chas Hudson was born to Dr. Charles James Hudson
99 7 Sr. and Tamara Lydia Hudson on September 18, 1982; as an
1010 8 infant, he was baptized into the Catholic faith; he received
1111 9 his elementary education at St. Thomas the Apostle and St.
1212 10 Joachim, where he graduated; he then attended Paul Laurence
1313 11 Dunbar High School, where he was an integral member of the
1414 12 football team that won the Chicago Citywide Championship in
1515 13 1997; upon graduation, he attended Alabama State University in
1616 14 Montgomery, Alabama; and
1717 15 WHEREAS, Chas Hudson pursued a career with railroad
1818 16 companies CSX, Canadian National, and Metra; he was
1919 17 extraordinarily committed to his work, leading him to quickly
2020 18 be promoted to a carman with Metra; he loved his career and the
2121 19 many colleagues who became friends; he remained a proud
2222 20 employee of Metra until his passing; and
2323 21 WHEREAS, Chas Hudson enjoyed dressing well, fine dining,
2424 22 traveling, and cooking; he learned his cooking and grill
