1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Alton
4 Dwayne Reese III; and
5 WHEREAS, Alton Reese was born in Chicago to Alton Reese
6 Jr. and Leontyne Reese-Tabb on May 29, 1959; he attended
7 Emerson Elementary School in Harvey; as a child, he committed
8 to his faith while attending St. Luke Church of God in Christ;
9 he graduated from Thornridge High School in Dolton and later
10 attended the police academy, where he graduated at the top of
11 his class in 1986; and
12 WHEREAS, Alton Reese worked for the Harvey Police
13 Department for several years, where he enjoyed helping the
14 community; and
15 WHEREAS, Alton Reese loved the game of baseball and was
16 given an opportunity to try out for the Chicago White Sox; he
17 enjoyed spending time with his family and friends; and
18 WHEREAS, Alton Reese was preceded in death by his parents;
19 and
20 WHEREAS, Alton Reese is survived by his brothers Albert

1 (Gwendolyn) and Anthony; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces,
2 nephews, cousins, and friends; and his partner, Shenise
3 McCarter; therefore, be it
4 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
5 HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
6 we mourn the passing of Alton Dwayne Reese III and extend our
7 sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
8 and loved him; and be it further
