44 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
55 3 Representatives wish to congratulate the Plymouth Tube Company
66 4 on the occasion of its 100th anniversary; and
77 5 WHEREAS, The Plymouth Tube Company is a fifth-generation,
88 6 family-owned U.S. manufacturing company, classed as a small
99 7 business and headquartered in Warrenville; the company was
1010 8 founded in Plymouth, Michigan in 1924 and specializes in the
1111 9 manufacturing of steel tubing and titanium and steel
1212 10 extrusions for demanding use in a variety of markets; and
1313 11 WHEREAS, The Plymouth Tube Company has grown into a
1414 12 supplier for a multitude of markets, including aerospace, life
1515 13 sciences, fluid power, automation, chemical processing, heavy
1616 14 equipment, nuclear energy, performance racing, space
1717 15 propulsion, industrial markets, and more, which shapes its
1818 16 legacy of innovation and continued growth; and
1919 17 WHEREAS, The Plymouth Tube Company regularly participates
2020 18 in air shows, including the Paris Air Show and the Farnborough
2121 19 International Airshow, which brings together leaders in the
2222 20 aerospace and defense industries to display their latest
2323 21 innovations, including the Plymouth Tube Company's titanium

3333 1 WHEREAS, The Plymouth Tube Company also encourages its
3434 2 employees to give back to their communities through volunteer
3535 3 service, specifically challenging them to record a minimum of
3636 4 100 hours of service or volunteerism per site by September 11,
3737 5 2024 in honor of Patriot Day; employees recorded a total of
3838 6 1,633 hours of service, which included sports coaching, elder
3939 7 care, crisis center assistance, natural disaster relief,
4040 8 veteran support, animal rescue, and blood drives; and
4141 9 WHEREAS, The Plymouth Tube Company has engineered
4242 10 innovations that originated from customer interactions,
4343 11 including nuclear thimble tubes to house the nuclear reactor
4444 12 temperature gauges, near-net titanium extrusions for weight
4545 13 and material savings for both commercial and defense aviation
4646 14 applications, and Plymouth ProMoly race car chassis tubing
4747 15 that keeps drivers safe during race day crashes; and
4848 16 WHEREAS, The Plymouth Tube Company has implemented waste
4949 17 reduction techniques that include benefits for environmental
5050 18 sustainability and cost reduction, which, according to the
5151 19 U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, eliminated a costly
5252 20 hazardous waste stream of ink by changing the printing process
5353 21 at one manufacturing facility; in addition, the team at a
5454 22 different Plymouth Tube Company facility identified and
5555 23 completed a 13.5 million standard cubic feet per year
