1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Betty
4 Ann (Benson) Payne of Niles, who passed away on November 19,
5 2024; and
6 WHEREAS, Betty Payne was born on October 28, 1931; and
7 WHEREAS, Betty Payne loved her family, her dogs, and
8 gardening; and
9 WHEREAS, Betty Payne was a strong, kind, loving, and
10 generous woman who will be remembered for her contagious
11 happiness; and
12 WHEREAS, Betty Payne was the mother of the late Richard
13 (Susan) and Scott; the grandmother of Jason, Angela, Elizabeth
14 (Jaime Valle) and the late Eric (Jaclyn Jennetten); the
15 great-grandmother of Ester (Mariano Ortega), Ada, Arianna,
16 Xavier, Leah, and Olivia; known as "Grandma Betty" to the
17 Mason family; the aunt of many nieces and nephews; and a friend
18 to all who met her; therefore, be it
19 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
20 HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
