44 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
55 3 Representatives wish to honor our colleague, State
66 4 Representative Jenn Ladisch-Douglass, on her esteemed service
77 5 as a member of the Illinois General Assembly and thank her for
88 6 her dedication to the State and her community; and
99 7 WHEREAS, Rep. Ladisch-Douglass was born outside of
1010 8 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; she attended the University of
1111 9 Pittsburgh, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with
1212 10 honors for her double major in anthropology and classical
1313 11 civilization with a minor in political science before earning
1414 12 her Juris Doctor; and
1515 13 WHEREAS, Rep. Ladisch-Douglass moved to Elmhurst with her
1616 14 husband in 2004, where she practiced law before founding her
1717 15 own firm, Douglass P.C. in 2011; and
1818 16 WHEREAS, Rep. Ladisch-Douglass practiced law for more than
1919 17 20 years before announcing in 2022 that she would run to
2020 18 represent the people of the 45th District in the Illinois
2121 19 General Assembly; and
2222 20 WHEREAS, Rep. Ladisch-Douglass first entered state
2323 21 government as a citizen advocate, drawing on her own

3232 1 experience as someone living with type 1 diabetes to advocate
3333 2 for legislation controlling the cost of insulin; and
3434 3 WHEREAS, While serving in the House, Rep. Ladisch-Douglass
3535 4 passed the very legislation that she championed as a citizen
3636 5 advocate, creating a new law capping the cost of a 30-day
3737 6 supply of insulin at $35; and
3838 7 WHEREAS, Rep. Ladisch-Douglass has served with distinction
3939 8 as a member of the Small Business, Tech Innovation Committee,
4040 9 the Energy & Environment Committee, the Insurance Committee,
4141 10 the Public Utilities Committee, the Judiciary-Civil Committee,
4242 11 the Family Law & Probate Subcommittee, the Appropriations,
4343 12 Health & Human Services Committee, and the Appropriations,
4444 13 Public Safety Committee and as Sub Co-Chairperson of the
4545 14 Violence Reduction & Prevention Subcommittee; therefore, be it
4646 15 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
4747 16 HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
4848 17 we congratulate Representative Jenn Ladisch-Douglass on her
4949 18 accomplishments, thank her for her service, and wish her all
