1111 1 AN ACT concerning business.
1212 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
1313 3 represented in the General Assembly:
1414 4 Section 5. The Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business
1515 5 Practices Act is amended by changing Section 2PP as follows:
1616 6 (815 ILCS 505/2PP)
1717 7 Sec. 2PP. Mail; disclosure.
1818 8 (a) It is an unlawful practice under this Act to knowingly
1919 9 mail or send or cause to be mailed or sent a postcard or letter
2020 10 to a recipient in this State if:
2121 11 (1) the postcard or letter contains a request that the
2222 12 recipient call a telephone number; and
2323 13 (2) the postcard or letter is mailed or sent to induce
2424 14 the recipient to call the telephone number so that goods,
2525 15 services, or other merchandise, as defined in Section 1,
2626 16 may be offered for sale to the recipient; and
2727 17 (3) the postcard or letter does not disclose or
2828 18 disclaim that it is not a bill and that it is a
2929 19 solicitation for that goods, services, or other
3030 20 merchandise, as defined in Section 1, that may be offered
3131 21 for sale if the recipient calls the telephone number; and
3232 22 .
