1111 1 AN ACT concerning State government.
1212 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
1313 3 represented in the General Assembly:
1414 4 Section 5. The General Assembly Organization Act is
1515 5 amended by adding Section 3.3 as follows:
1616 6 (25 ILCS 5/3.3 new)
1717 7 Sec. 3.3. Midnight legislation prohibition.
1818 8 Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary,
1919 9 beginning on the effective date of this amendatory Act of the
2020 10 103rd General Assembly, neither house of the General Assembly
2121 11 shall consider or take a vote on any legislation between the
2222 12 hours of 12:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., on any day of the week
2323 13 during any regular or special session of the General Assembly,
2424 14 unless approved by the leaders of each of the caucuses of that
2525 15 house.
2626 16 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
2727 17 becoming law.
