1212 1 AN ACT concerning civil law.
1313 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
1414 3 represented in the General Assembly:
1515 4 Section 5. The Innkeeper Protection Act is amended by
1616 5 adding Sections 10 and 11 as follows:
1717 6 (740 ILCS 90/10 new)
1818 7 Sec. 10. Refusal of admission. A proprietor or manager of
1919 8 a hotel may refuse to admit or refuse service or
2020 9 accommodations to a person who:
2121 10 (1) while on the premises of the hotel, acts in an
2222 11 obviously intoxicated manner, destroys or threatens to
2323 12 destroy hotel property, or causes or threatens to cause a
2424 13 public disturbance;
2525 14 (2) is seeking accommodations for the unlawful
2626 15 possession or use of controlled substances or the use of
2727 16 the premises for the consumption of alcoholic liquor by a
2828 17 person under the age of 21; or
2929 18 (3) is under the age of 18 years and is not accompanied
3030 19 by an adult.

7070 1 to be removed from a hotel a guest or other person who:
7171 2 (1) refuses or is unable to pay for accommodations or
7272 3 services;
7373 4 (2) while on the premises of the hotel, acts in an
7474 5 obviously intoxicated manner, destroys or threatens to
7575 6 destroy hotel property, verbally or physically threatens
7676 7 employees or guests, or causes or threatens to cause a
7777 8 public disturbance;
7878 9 (3) is using the premises for the unlawful possession
7979 10 or use of controlled substances by the person or using the
8080 11 premises for the consumption of alcoholic liquor by a
8181 12 person under the age of 21 years of age;
8282 13 (4) brings property into the hotel that may be
8383 14 dangerous to other persons, including firearms or
8484 15 explosives;
8585 16 (5) violates any federal, State, or local laws,
8686 17 ordinances, or rules relating to the hotel;
8787 18 (6) violates a rule of the hotel that is clearly and
8888 19 conspicuously posted at or near the front desk or posted
8989 20 online where the guest can view it before making a
9090 21 reservation at the hotel; or
9191 22 (7) uses verbally abusive language toward the hotel's
9292 23 employees or guests. For the purposes of this Section,
9393 24 "verbally abusive language" means any language that would
9494 25 reasonably be found to be offensive, threatening, or
9595 26 demeaning.

113113 8 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
