12	12	1 AN ACT concerning civil law.
13	13	2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
14	14	3 represented in the General Assembly:
15	15	4 Section 5. The Innkeeper Protection Act is amended by
16	16	5 adding Sections 10 and 11 as follows:
17	17	6 (740 ILCS 90/10 new)
18	18	7 Sec. 10. Refusal of admission. A proprietor or manager of
19	19	8 a hotel may refuse to admit or refuse service or
20	20	9 accommodations to a person who:
21	21	10 (1) while on the premises of the hotel, acts in an
22	22	11 obviously intoxicated manner, destroys or threatens to
23	23	12 destroy hotel property, or causes or threatens to cause a
24	24	13 public disturbance;
25	25	14 (2) is seeking accommodations for the unlawful
26	26	15 possession or use of controlled substances or the use of
27	27	16 the premises for the consumption of alcoholic liquor by a
28	28	17 person under the age of 21; or
29	29	18 (3) is under the age of 18 years and is not accompanied
30	30	19 by an adult.

70	70	1 to be removed from a hotel a guest or other person who:
71	71	2 (1) refuses or is unable to pay for accommodations or
72	72	3 services;
73	73	4 (2) while on the premises of the hotel, acts in an
74	74	5 obviously intoxicated manner, destroys or threatens to
75	75	6 destroy hotel property, verbally or physically threatens
76	76	7 employees or guests, or causes or threatens to cause a
77	77	8 public disturbance;
78	78	9 (3) is using the premises for the unlawful possession
79	79	10 or use of controlled substances by the person or using the
80	80	11 premises for the consumption of alcoholic liquor by a
81	81	12 person under the age of 21 years of age;
82	82	13 (4) brings property into the hotel that may be
83	83	14 dangerous to other persons, including firearms or
84	84	15 explosives;
85	85	16 (5) violates any federal, State, or local laws,
86	86	17 ordinances, or rules relating to the hotel;
87	87	18 (6) violates a rule of the hotel that is clearly and
88	88	19 conspicuously posted at or near the front desk or posted
89	89	20 online where the guest can view it before making a
90	90	21 reservation at the hotel; or
91	91	22 (7) uses verbally abusive language toward the hotel's
92	92	23 employees or guests. For the purposes of this Section,
93	93	24 "verbally abusive language" means any language that would
94	94	25 reasonably be found to be offensive, threatening, or
95	95	26 demeaning.

113	113	8 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
