11	11	1 AN ACT concerning public aid.
12	12	2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
13	13	3 represented in the General Assembly:
14	14	4 Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
15	15	5 adding Section 5-5.24a as follows:
16	16	6 (305 ILCS 5/5-5.24a new)
17	17	7 Sec. 5-5.24a. Remote ultrasounds and remote fetal
18	18	8 nonstress tests; reimbursement.
19	19	9 (a) As used in this Section, "CPT code" means the medical
20	20	10 billing code set contained in the most recent version of the
21	21	11 Current Procedural Terminology code book published by the
22	22	12 American Medical Association.
23	23	13 (b) The Department shall adopt rules permitting
24	24	14 reimbursement under the fee-for-service and managed care
25	25	15 medical assistance programs for remote ultrasound procedures
26	26	16 and remote fetal nonstress tests, utilizing established CPT
27	27	17 codes for these procedures, when the patient is in a residence
28	28	18 or other off-site location from the patient's provider and the
29	29	19 same standard of care is met as would be present during an
30	30	20 in-person visit.
31	31	21 (c) Remote ultrasounds and remote fetal nonstress tests
32	32	22 are only eligible for reimbursement when the provider uses
