1 AN ACT concerning local government.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Township Code is amended by adding Section
5 85-70 as follows:
6 (60 ILCS 1/85-70 new)
7 Sec. 85-70. Bus transportation for ADA paratransit and
8 senior citizens. Townships in a county with a population of
9 500,000 or more may enter into intergovernmental agreements to
10 provide ADA paratransit bus transportation and bus
11 transportation for senior citizens between townships. The
12 township providing service may apply to the Department of
13 Human Services to receive grants to reimburse costs from the
14 Township Bus Service Fund, a special fund that is created in
15 the State treasury, and, subject to appropriation and as
16 directed by the Secretary of Human Services, moneys in the
17 Fund may be expended for reimbursement costs as provided in
18 this Section and for no other purpose.
19 Section 10. The State Finance Act is amended by adding
20 Section 5.1015 as follows:
