| 6 | 6 | | 4 Andalusia, who passed away on May 29, 2023; and |

| 7 | 7 | | 5 WHEREAS, Richard Smock was born to John M. and Eva M. |

| 8 | 8 | | 6 Hopper Smock in Rock Island on April 11, 1949; he married |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | 7 Marlowe Robinson at the First Presbyterian Church in Milan on |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | 8 May 15, 1971; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | 9 WHEREAS, Richard Smock served in the U.S. Army during the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | 10 Vietnam War; he received numerous honors for his military |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | 11 service, including the Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | 12 Service Stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | 13 Combat Infantry Badge, the Air Medal, the Army Commendation |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | 14 Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, the Purple Heart, and the Bronze |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | 15 Star Medal with "V" Device and 1 Oak Leaf Cluster; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | 16 WHEREAS, Richard Smock worked as an assembler for Raymond |

| 19 | 19 | | 17 Toyota Manufacturing in Muscatine, Iowa for 25 years; he |

| 20 | 20 | | 18 retired in 2014; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | 19 WHEREAS, Richard Smock was a member of Reynolds American |

| 22 | 22 | | 20 Legion Post 1166 and Vietnam Veterans of America #299; and |
