3	3	1 SENATE RESOLUTION
4	4	2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
5	5	3 to learn of the death of Laddie Joe Storckman of Hutsonville,
6	6	4 who passed away on June 13, 2023; and
7	7	5 WHEREAS, Laddie Storckman was born in Olney to J.O. and
8	8	6 Madelyn (Collins) Storckman on December 18, 1952; he was
9	9	7 raised in Robinson and graduated from Robinson High School in
10	10	8 1970; he married Connie Vandevender on May 31, 1975; and
11	11	9 WHEREAS, Laddie Storckman joined the U.S. Marine Corps in
12	12	10 1971 and, following initial training at Parris Island in July
13	13	11 of that year, entered combat training at Camp Lejeune before
14	14	12 moving on to the Parris Island School of Music, where he
15	15	13 trained from January to March of 1972; he performed in
16	16	14 countless ceremonies, events, and parades across the nation,
17	17	15 including several White House events, the inaugural parade of
18	18	16 President Nixon, and the opening of Disney World; he traveled
19	19	17 with the Silent Drill Platoon, and together, they represented
20	20	18 the U.S. with honor and distinction; and
21	21	19 WHEREAS, Laddie Storckman was honorably discharged in July
22	22	20 of 1973 and returned home to study petroleum technology at
23	23	21 Lincoln Trail College, where he earned an associate degree in
24	24	22 1975; he worked for Marathon in Robinson, Chevron in Rangely,

33	33	1 Colorado, and Amoco in Evanston, Wyoming; most recently, he
34	34	2 was an oil and gas well inspector for the State of Illinois;
35	35	3 and
36	36	4 WHEREAS, Laddie Storckman was an avid outdoorsman and
37	37	5 loved hunting, fishing, and gardening; he was also a dedicated
38	38	6 student of history and had a particular interest in the
39	39	7 fur-trading days of America and the Pacific Theater of World
40	40	8 War II; and
41	41	9 WHEREAS, Laddie Storckman was an active member of Trimble
42	42	10 Bible Church, where he served as a board member, treasurer,
43	43	11 and song leader; and
44	44	12 WHEREAS, Laddie Storckman was a faithful and dependable
45	45	13 man who was a rock for his family; and
46	46	14 WHEREAS, Laddie Storckman was preceded in death by his
47	47	15 parents; his father-in-law, Leroy Vandevender; his
48	48	16 brothers-in-law, John Vandevender and Robert Takacs; his
49	49	17 sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dianne E. and Rick Pollard;
50	50	18 and many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and
51	51	19 WHEREAS, Laddie Storckman is survived by his wife of 48
52	52	20 years, Connie; his daughter, Amy Teska; his son and
53	53	21 daughter-in-law, Ryan and Sara Storckman; his grandchildren,

64	64	1 Olivia, Aaron, and Rachel Teska; his sister, Julie Takacs; his
65	65	2 brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Christine Storckman; his
66	66	3 mother-in-law, Libby Vandevender; his sisters-in-law and
67	67	4 brother-in-law, Carolyn Kay and Gary Smith and Betty
68	68	5 Vandevender; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore,

70	70	7 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
71	71	8 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
72	72	9 Laddie Joe Storckman and extend our sincere condolences to his
73	73	10 family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
74	74	11 further
75	75	12 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
76	76	13 presented to the family of Laddie Storckman as an expression
77	77	14 of our deepest sympathy.
