| 5 | 5 | | 3 to learn of the death of Marion Thompson of Aledo, who passed |

| 6 | 6 | | 4 away on October 4, 2023; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 5 WHEREAS, Marion Thompson was born to Allan and Opal |

| 8 | 8 | | 6 (Walton) Thompson in Mt. Vernon, Iowa on October 23, 1936; |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | 7 after high school, he joined the U.S. Navy; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | 8 WHEREAS, Marion Thompson served the local community as an |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | 9 auxiliary policeman for many years; he also worked as a |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | 10 precision tool grinder for JI Case for 33 years; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | 11 WHEREAS, Marion Thompson served as a scout leader and a |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | 12 rock hunter with the Edwards River Rock Club; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | 13 WHEREAS, Marion Thompson enjoyed restoring tractors and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | 14 lawn mowers, sandblasting, and gun collecting; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | 15 WHEREAS, Marion Thompson was preceded in death by his |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | 16 parents and his brother, Theodore Thompson; and |

| 19 | 19 | | 17 WHEREAS, Marion Thompson is survived by his wife, Kathryn |
