22 | 22 | | 20 WHEREAS, Historical data shows that most migrants who |

23 | 23 | | 21 enter the United States as asylum seekers will be denied |

24 | 24 | | 22 asylum and will not be granted lawful permanent status in our |

42 | 42 | | 10 intellectually and developmentally disabled community; and |

43 | 43 | | 11 WHEREAS, Illinois' nonpartisan Commission on Government |
---|
44 | 44 | | 12 Forecasting and Accountability recently projected a nearly $1 |
---|
45 | 45 | | 13 billion budget deficit for Fiscal Year 2025; and |
---|
46 | 46 | | 14 WHEREAS, Illinois' Healthcare for Immigrant Program, which |
---|
47 | 47 | | 15 provides free healthcare to non-citizens, has ballooned in |
---|
48 | 48 | | 16 scope and cost to a point where it could cost as much as $1.1 |
---|
49 | 49 | | 17 billion during the current fiscal year; and |
---|
50 | 50 | | 18 WHEREAS, The flow of migrants into communities across the |
---|
51 | 51 | | 19 State has resulted in increased class sizes in schools, which |
---|
52 | 52 | | 20 adversely affects property taxpayers; and |
