SR0887LRB103 40042 ECR 71466 r SR0887 LRB103 40042 ECR 71466 r SR0887 LRB103 40042 ECR 71466 r 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 3 to learn of the death of Marcia Lynn Morrison of Springfield, 4 who passed away on February 29, 2024; and 5 WHEREAS, Marcia Morrison was born to Earnest and Ursula 6 Morrison on April 28, 1965; she graduated from Riverton High 7 School; and 8 WHEREAS, Marcia Morrison worked for Riverton Community 9 School District #14 and First Student, Inc. as a bus driver; 10 her career included shuttling visitors and athletes to and 11 from various venues during the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, 12 Georgia; and 13 WHEREAS, Marcia Morrison volunteered for various 14 organizations, including the Special Olympics, United Cerebral 15 Palsy (UCP), and the Illinois State Fair Parade; and 16 WHEREAS, Marcia Morrison enjoyed playing softball and 17 later served as an umpire; and 18 WHEREAS, Marcia Morrison will be remembered for always 19 helping others in any way possible; and SR0887 LRB103 40042 ECR 71466 r SR0887- 2 -LRB103 40042 ECR 71466 r SR0887 - 2 - LRB103 40042 ECR 71466 r SR0887 - 2 - LRB103 40042 ECR 71466 r 1 WHEREAS, Marcia Morrison was preceded in death by her 2 parents; her brother-in-law, Chris Godefroid; and several 3 aunts, uncles, and cousins; and 4 WHEREAS, Marcia Morrison is survived by her son, Britten; 5 her friend, Tristan; her siblings, Terry (Peggy), Jerry (Rod 6 Nash), Denny (Gina), Kenny (Kristy), and Kathy (Chris) 7 Godefroid; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, 8 great-nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; therefore, be it 9 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL 10 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 11 Marcia Lynn Morrison and extend our sincere condolences to her 12 family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it 13 further SR0887 - 2 - LRB103 40042 ECR 71466 r
