44 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
55 3 to learn of the death of Jan Christensen of East Moline, who
66 4 passed away on May 17, 2024; and
77 5 WHEREAS, Jan Christensen was born to Janice and Vern
88 6 Christensen in Rock Island on April 9, 1948; he graduated from
99 7 Moline High School in 1966; he attended Blackhawk College
1010 8 before being drafted to served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam; he
1111 9 graduated with a degree in psychology from St. Ambrose
1212 10 College; he married Diane Eldred on August 2, 1969; and
1313 11 WHEREAS, During high school, Jan Christensen worked at his
1414 12 grandfather's business the former Knox Mortuary; as an adult,
1515 13 he worked at Farmall, and then he and a partner purchased the
1616 14 Fol-da-tank Company from his father-in-law, Giles Eldred; and
1717 15 WHEREAS, Jan Christensen served on the vestry of Trinity
1818 16 Episcopal Church as a member and as senior warden; he served on
1919 17 the Friendship Manor Board and was a member of the Rock Island
2020 18 Rotary Club for many years; and
2121 19 WHEREAS, Jan Christensen is survived by his wife of 54
2222 20 years, Diane; his children, Chad (Steph) Christensen and Beth
2323 21 (David) Carlin; his grandchildren, Vanessa Christensen, Andrew
