1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3 to learn of the death of Alfred H. "Ted" Holloway of Rock
4 Island, who passed away on July 18, 2024; and
5 WHEREAS, Ted Holloway was born in Galesburg to Wilbur
6 Townsend Holloway and Mildred (Hughs) Holloway on September
7 16, 1933; he served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War;
8 he married Dian (Thornburg) Miller in Davenport, Iowa on March
9 3, 1972; and
10 WHEREAS, Ted Holloway worked for more than 40 years as a
11 bricklayer and retired on September 30, 1994 from Schott &
12 Welch Masonry; and
13 WHEREAS, Ted Holloway was a member of BAC Local 8 of
14 Illinois; and
15 WHEREAS, Ted Holloway is survived by his wife, Dian; his
16 daughter, Laura (Marty) McManus; his grandchildren, Daniel
17 Pierson (Lauren), Sydney (Jeff) Gauley, and Kyle McManus
18 (Katie); his great-grandchildren, Pepper Pierson, Jack
19 Pierson, Kane Bush, Rhys Gauley, and Harlow Gauley; numerous
20 nieces, nephews and cousins; and his beloved dog, "BJ";
21 therefore, be it

2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3 Alfred H. "Ted" Holloway and extend our sincere condolences to
4 his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
