| 4 | 4 | | 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |

| 5 | 5 | | 3 to learn of the death of Allen K. "Deacon" Jones of |

| 6 | 6 | | 4 Marshalltown, Iowa, who passed away on August 7, 2024; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 5 WHEREAS, Deacon Jones, the son of William and Marie |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | 6 (Snodgrass) Jones, was born in Moline on April 21, 1945; he |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | 7 graduated from Moline High School; he served in the U.S. Army |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | 8 with the 196th Light Infantry Brigade in Vietnam; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | 9 WHEREAS, Deacon Jones worked for Farmall, and he retired |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | 10 from Navistar in Indianapolis, Indiana; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | 11 WHEREAS, Deacon Jones enjoyed dirt track racing and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | 12 watching NASCAR; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | 13 WHEREAS, Deacon Jones will be remembered for his unique |

| 16 | 16 | | 14 sense of humor and his love of playing pranks on friends and |

| 18 | 18 | | 16 WHEREAS, Deacon Jones was preceded in death by his father; |
