1  SENATE RESOLUTION
2  WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3  to learn of the death of Rosemary McConnaughay of Elburn,
4  formerly of Geneva, who passed away on December 17, 2024; and
5  WHEREAS, Rosemary McConnaughay was born to John and
6  Catherine (Brizzolara) Boggiano in Geneva on October 26, 1935;
7  she was raised in Geneva and attended St. Patrick's Grade
8  School; she graduated from Mt. St. Mary High School in St.
9  Charles in 1953; she married William McConnaughay on May 21,
10  1955; and
11  WHEREAS, Rosemary McConnaughay worked alongside her
12  parents at their family business, Geneva Bottling Works; and
13  WHEREAS, Rosemary McConnaughay was known for being sweet,
14  generous, and hardworking, and she possessed a great sense of
15  humor and always had a sparkle in her eye; she will be
16  remembered as an animal lover, a devout Catholic, and a loving
17  mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend; and
18  WHEREAS, Rosemary McConnaughay was preceded in death by
19  her parents; her husband; and her sons-in-law, Glenn Cushing
20  and David Meyer; and

1  WHEREAS, Rosemary McConnaughay is survived by her
2  children, John (Karen) McConnaughay, Catherine (Thomas) Meyer,
3  Janet (Leo) McCormick, and Margaret McDonnell; seven
4  grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
5  RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
6  ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7  Rosemary McConnaughay and extend our sincere condolences to
8  her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
9  further
