11	11	1 AN ACT concerning business.
12	12	2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
13	13	3 represented in the General Assembly:
14	14	4 Section 5. The Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business
15	15	5 Practices Act is amended by adding Section 2HHHH as follows:
16	16	6 (815 ILCS 505/2HHHH new)
17	17	7 Sec. 2HHHH. Internet domain name; grace period.
18	18	8 (a) As used in this Section, "Internet domain name" refers
19	19	9 to a globally unique, hierarchical reference to an Internet
20	20	10 host or service, assigned through centralized Internet naming
21	21	11 authorities, comprising a series of character strings
22	22	12 separated by periods, with the right-most string specifying
23	23	13 the top of the hierarchy.
24	24	14 (b) A person who hosts or registers an Internet domain
25	25	15 name to a person located in this State shall not sell or lease
26	26	16 the Internet domain name to another person for a period of 5
27	27	17 years after the buyer or lessee ends his or her ownership or
28	28	18 lease of the Internet domain name. A buyer or lessee who ends
29	29	19 his or her ownership or lease agreement shall have the right to
30	30	20 repurchase or renew the lease for the Internet domain name
31	31	21 during the 5-year period for the cost the buyer or lessee would
32	32	22 have owed to the host or registrar if the ownership or lease
33	33	23 agreement had not ended.
