14 | 14 | | 4 Section 5. The Park District Code is amended by changing |
---|
15 | 15 | | 5 Section 2-11 as follows: |

17 | 17 | | 7 Sec. 2-11. No person shall be eligible to serve as park |
---|
18 | 18 | | 8 commissioner unless that person is a qualified elector of the |
---|
19 | 19 | | 9 park district and has resided therein at least one year prior |
---|
20 | 20 | | 10 to election or appointment. |
---|
21 | 21 | | 11 A person is not eligible to serve as park commissioner if |
---|
22 | 22 | | 12 that person is in arrears in the payment of a tax or other |
---|
23 | 23 | | 13 indebtedness due to the park district or has been convicted in |
---|
24 | 24 | | 14 any court located in the United States of any infamous crime, |
---|
25 | 25 | | 15 bribery, perjury, or other felony. |
---|
26 | 26 | | 16 Nominations of candidates for the office of park |
---|
27 | 27 | | 17 commissioners in any General Park District at all succeeding |
---|
28 | 28 | | 18 elections shall be made by petition signed in the aggregate |
---|
29 | 29 | | 19 for each candidate by qualified voters of such district, equal |
---|
30 | 30 | | 20 in number to not less than 2% of the number who voted at the |
---|
31 | 31 | | 21 last preceding election for commissioners in such district, |
---|
32 | 32 | | 22 but in no case by less than 25 of such voters. Notwithstanding |

33 | 33 | | 23 any other provisions of this Section, no candidate shall be |
