1111 1 AN ACT concerning local government.
1212 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
1313 3 represented in the General Assembly:
1414 4 Section 5. The Park District Code is amended by changing
1515 5 Section 2-11 as follows:
1616 6 (70 ILCS 1205/2-11) (from Ch. 105, par. 2-11)
1717 7 Sec. 2-11. No person shall be eligible to serve as park
1818 8 commissioner unless that person is a qualified elector of the
1919 9 park district and has resided therein at least one year prior
2020 10 to election or appointment.
2121 11 A person is not eligible to serve as park commissioner if
2222 12 that person is in arrears in the payment of a tax or other
2323 13 indebtedness due to the park district or has been convicted in
2424 14 any court located in the United States of any infamous crime,
2525 15 bribery, perjury, or other felony.
2626 16 Nominations of candidates for the office of park
2727 17 commissioners in any General Park District at all succeeding
2828 18 elections shall be made by petition signed in the aggregate
2929 19 for each candidate by qualified voters of such district, equal
3030 20 in number to not less than 2% of the number who voted at the
3131 21 last preceding election for commissioners in such district,
3232 22 but in no case by less than 25 of such voters. Notwithstanding
3333 23 any other provisions of this Section, no candidate shall be
