1111 1 AN ACT concerning local government.
1212 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
1313 3 represented in the General Assembly:
1414 4 Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the Local
1515 5 Government Business Anti-Poaching Act.
1616 6 Section 5. Definition. As used in this Act, "incentive"
1717 7 means any economic benefit, financial benefit, or other
1818 8 benefit, such as those authorized under the Economic
1919 9 Development for a Growing Economy Tax Credit Act, the Property
2020 10 Tax Code, the Counties Code, the Illinois Municipal Code
2121 11 (including the Tax Increment Allocation Redevelopment Act), or
2222 12 any other provision of law authorizing abatements, credits, or
2323 13 tax or fee reductions.
2424 14 Section 10. Illinois business poaching prohibited.
2525 15 Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no municipality or
2626 16 county shall offer after the effective date of this Act any
2727 17 incentive to a business or corporation to move its
2828 18 headquarters located in Illinois, or any part of its business
2929 19 located in Illinois, away from the current location.
