11	11	1 AN ACT concerning education.
12	12	2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
13	13	3 represented in the General Assembly:
14	14	4 Section 5. The Board of Higher Education Act is amended by
15	15	5 adding Section 9.45 as follows:
16	16	6 (110 ILCS 205/9.45 new)
17	17	7 Sec. 9.45. Artificial intelligence education report.
18	18	8 (a) Within 18 months after the effective date of this
19	19	9 amendatory Act of the 104th General Assembly, the Board shall
20	20	10 prepare and submit to the General Assembly a report on the
21	21	11 state of artificial intelligence education and development in
22	22	12 public and private institutions of higher education. The
23	23	13 report shall contain, at a minimum, all of the following
24	24	14 information:
25	25	15 (1) All existing academic programs and courses focused
26	26	16 on educating students about the use, development, and
27	27	17 ethical and social implications of artificial intelligence
28	28	18 systems.
29	29	19 (2) All future plans for implementing such programs
30	30	20 and courses.
31	31	21 (3) All current and future plans for research projects
32	32	22 studying the use, development, and implications of
33	33	23 artificial intelligence.
