Kelly SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED: 40 ILCS 5/5-240 new40 ILCS 5/6-235 new30 ILCS 805/8.49 new Amends the Chicago Police and Chicago Firefighter Articles of the Illinois Pension Code. Provides that the Retirement Systems Reciprocal Act (Article 20 of the Code) is adopted and made a part of the Chicago Police and Chicago Firefighter Articles, but only with respect to a person who, on or after the effective date of the amendatory Act, is entitled under the Chicago Police or Chicago Firefighter Article to begin receiving a retirement annuity or survivor's annuity and who elects to proceed under the Retirement Systems Reciprocal Act. 1616 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
1717 3 represented in the General Assembly:
1818 4 Section 5. The Illinois Pension Code is amended by adding
1919 5 Sections 5-240 and 6-235 as follows:

2121 7 Sec. 5-240. Retirement Systems Reciprocal Act. The
2222 8 Retirement Systems Reciprocal Act, Article 20 of this Code, is
2323 9 adopted and made a part of this Article, but only with respect
2424 10 to a person who, on or after the effective date of this
2525 11 amendatory Act of the 104th General Assembly, is entitled
2626 12 under this Article to begin receiving a retirement annuity or
2727 13 survivor's annuity (as those terms are defined in Article 20)
2828 14 and who elects to proceed under the Retirement Systems
2929 15 Reciprocal Act.
