1111 1 AN ACT concerning State government.
1212 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
1313 3 represented in the General Assembly:
1414 4 Section 5. The Department of Commerce and Economic
1515 5 Opportunity Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois
1616 6 is amended by adding Section 1110 as follows:
1717 7 (20 ILCS 605/1110 new)
1818 8 Sec. 1110. Commission on Tourism.
1919 9 (a) A Commission on Tourism is hereby established to
2020 10 develop the statewide travel and tourism strategy described in
2121 11 subsection (c).
2222 12 (b) The Commission shall consist of the following members:
2323 13 (1) the Director of Commerce and Economic Opportunity
2424 14 or the Director's designee, who shall serve as a cochair
2525 15 of the Commission;
2626 16 (2) the Director of Natural Resources or the
2727 17 Director's designee, who shall serve as a cochair of the
2828 18 Commission;
2929 19 (3) the Director of Revenue or the Director's
3030 20 designee;
3131 21 (4) the Secretary of Transportation or the Secretary's

3333 23 (5) the Director of Agriculture or the Director's

8585 18 (c) The Commission shall develop a statewide travel and
8686 19 tourism strategy with recommendations for new policies and
8787 20 initiatives to promote domestic and international travel
8888 21 opportunities throughout Illinois with the goal of increasing
8989 22 the Illinois market share of international and interstate
9090 23 travel. The recommendations shall include, but shall not be
9191 24 limited to, strategies to promote visits to Illinois public
9292 25 lands, waters, shores, monuments, and other iconic
9393 26 destinations with the goal of expanding job creation in
