16	16	1 AN ACT concerning education.
17	17	2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
18	18	3 represented in the General Assembly:
19	19	4 Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Sections
20	20	5 10-20.88 and 34-18.14a as follows:
21	21	6 (105 ILCS 5/10-20.88 new)
22	22	7 Sec. 10-20.88. Restrictions on cellular telephone use. A
23	23	8 school board shall prohibit a student from using a cellular
24	24	9 telephone in a school or on school property while the student
25	25	10 is attending class. This restriction shall not apply during
26	26	11 lunch, recess, passing periods, or emergency situations.
