1	1	104TH GENERAL ASSEMBLY State of Illinois 2025 and 2026 HB3337 Introduced , by Rep. Thaddeus Jones SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED: New Act Creates the Illiana Task Force Act. Creates the Illiana Task Force, consisting of 24 police officers, appointed by the Director of the Illinois State Police. Provides that the members of the Task Force shall select a chairperson. Provides that members of the Task Force shall receive no compensation for their service on the Task Force but shall be reimbursed for necessary expenses incurred in the performance of their duties from appropriations made by the General Assembly for that purpose. Provides that the Task Force shall meet at least once monthly to study ways to reduce violence in local communities caused by the illegal use of firearms and to make recommendations to the Governor and the General Assembly on suggested legislative solutions to this problem. Provides that the Task Force shall submit an annual report to the Governor and the General Assembly on or before December 31 of each year and a final report 5 years after the creation of the Task Force. Provides that the Task Force shall be dissolved 6 years after its creation. Provides that the Act is repealed on January 1, 2032. Effective immediately. 11	11	1 AN ACT concerning firearm violence.
12	12	2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
13	13	3 represented in the General Assembly:
14	14	4 Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the
15	15	5 Illiana Task Force Act.
16	16	6 Section 5. Illiana Task Force; creation.
17	17	7 (a) The Illiana Task Force, consisting of 24 police
18	18	8 officers, is established. The members shall be appointed by
19	19	9 the Director of the Illinois State Police. The members of the
20	20	10 Task Force shall select from their number a chairperson.
21	21	11 Members of the Task Force shall receive no compensation for
22	22	12 their service on the Task Force but shall be reimbursed for
23	23	13 necessary expenses incurred in the performance of their duties
24	24	14 from appropriations made by the General Assembly for that
25	25	15 purpose.
26	26	16 (b) The Task Force shall meet at least once monthly to
27	27	17 study ways to reduce violence in local communities caused by
28	28	18 the illegal use of firearms and to make recommendations to the
