11	11	1 AN ACT concerning State government.
12	12	2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
13	13	3 represented in the General Assembly:
14	14	4 Section 5. The Department of Public Health Powers and
15	15	5 Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is
16	16	6 amended by adding Section 2310-23 as follows:
17	17	7 (20 ILCS 2310/2310-23 new)
18	18	8 Sec. 2310-23. Tracking pharmacy deserts. The Department
19	19	9 shall provide an annual report to the General Assembly by
20	20	10 December 31 of each year that identifies the locations of
21	21	11 pharmacy deserts within the State and provides information
22	22	12 about health issues associated with pharmacy deserts. If the
23	23	13 annual report contains information from the federal government
24	24	14 that identifies the locations of pharmacy deserts in the State
25	25	15 and provides information on health issues associated with
26	26	16 pharmacy deserts, then the requirements of this Section shall
27	27	17 be satisfied. For the purposes of this Section, "pharmacy
28	28	18 desert" means a location vapid of prescription medication
29	29	19 retail sales, in part due to a lack of pharmacies, health care
30	30	20 facilities, or other physical dispensaries of prescription
31	31	21 medication.
32	32	22 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
