 CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT HC0010 Introduced , by Rep. John M. Cabello SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED: ILCON Art. IV, Sec. 11 Proposes to amend the Legislature Article of the Illinois Constitution. Provides that the annual base salary of a member shall be the same as the annual median household income in the State in the first year of a General Assembly as reported by the United States Bureau of the Census. Provides that the General Assembly shall pass no law that increases the base salary of a member of the General Assembly. 3  RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
4  HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE
5  SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that there shall be submitted to the
6  electors of the State for adoption or rejection at the general
7  election next occurring at least 6 months after the adoption
8  of this resolution a proposition to amend Article IV of the
9  Illinois Constitution by changing Sections 11 as follows:
10  ARTICLE IV
11  THE LEGISLATURE
12  (ILCON Art. IV, Sec. 11)
13  SECTION 11. COMPENSATION AND ALLOWANCES
14  The annual base salary of a member shall be the same as the
15  annual median household income in this State in the first year
16  of a General Assembly as reported by the United States Bureau
17  of the Census. A member shall receive a salary and allowances
18  as provided by law, but changes in the allowances salary of a
19  member shall not take effect during the term for which he has
20  been elected. The General Assembly shall pass no law that
21  increases the base salary of a member of the General Assembly.
