IV, Sec. 11 Proposes to amend the Legislature Article of the Illinois Constitution. Provides that the annual base salary of a member shall be the same as the annual median household income in the State in the first year of a General Assembly as reported by the United States Bureau of the Census. Provides that the General Assembly shall pass no law that increases the base salary of a member of the General Assembly. Provides that the Amendment takes effect upon the conclusion of the 104th General Assembly. 1414 5 SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that there shall be submitted to the
1515 6 electors of the State for adoption or rejection at the general
1616 7 election next occurring at least 6 months after the adoption
1717 8 of this resolution a proposition to amend Article IV of the
1818 9 Illinois Constitution by changing Sections 11 as follows:

2222 13 SECTION 11. COMPENSATION AND ALLOWANCES
2323 14 The annual base salary of a member shall be the same as the
2424 15 annual median household income in this State in the first year
2525 16 of a General Assembly as reported by the United States Bureau
2626 17 of the Census. A member shall receive a salary and allowances
2727 18 as provided by law, but changes in the allowances salary of a
2828 19 member shall not take effect during the term for which he has
2929 20 been elected. The General Assembly shall pass no law that
3030 21 increases the base salary of a member of the General Assembly.
