| 8 | 8 | | 6 WHEREAS, Brett's First Responders was created in honor of |

| 9 | 9 | | 7 Firefighter Brett A. Korves of the Swansea Fire Department, |

| 10 | 10 | | 8 who was killed when an individual evading police hit his car at |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | 9 a high rate of speed in April 2019, leaving behind his wife, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | 10 Alex, his 18-month-old son, Brock, and a unborn daughter, who |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | 11 was later named Brett Grace after her father; while his family |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | 12 received incredible support from family, friends, and the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | 13 community, they did not qualify for other types of financial |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | 14 support due to his being killed outside the line of duty; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | 15 WHEREAS, Brett's First Responders was created to assist |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | 16 families of first responders who find themselves facing |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | 17 situations similar to that of the family of Brett Korves, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | 18 ensuring all families of first responders have support during |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | 19 times of tragedy and financial hardship; and |

| 22 | 22 | | 20 WHEREAS, Brett's First Responders provides financial |
|---|

|---|
| 24 | 24 | | 22 circumstances outside the line of duty or those enduring |
