44 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
55 3 Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Mary
66 4 Joyce "Mae Joyce" (Faulkner) Anderson-Farris of Peoria, who
77 5 passed away on February 3, 2025; and
88 6 WHEREAS, Mae Joyce Anderson-Farris was born to Sam and
99 7 Cenilious (Petty) Faulkner in Scotts, Mississippi; and
1010 8 WHEREAS, Mae Joyce Anderson-Farris previously worked at
1111 9 the Workforce Development Office before serving as a dedicated
1212 10 bus driver for Peoria District 150 for many years, retiring in
1313 11 2006; and
1414 12 WHEREAS, Mae Joyce Anderson-Farris committed to her faith
1515 13 at a young age and was a charter member of New Cornerstone
1616 14 Baptist Church, where she served as an usher; and
1717 15 WHEREAS, Mae Joyce Anderson-Farris was an avid reader, a
1818 16 devoted watcher of soap operas and game shows, and a great
1919 17 storyteller; and
2020 18 WHEREAS, Mae Joyce Anderson-Farris served as a pillar of
2121 19 strength, wisdom, and boundless love; her life was a testament
2222 20 to faith and unwavering kindness; she was a devoted wife,

3333 3 WHEREAS, Mae Joyce Anderson-Farris was preceded in death
3434 4 by her parents; her sisters, Hattie B. Mason, Ida Mae Bryant,
3535 5 Willie Sam Williams, Corine "Nell" McClain, Augusta "Snook"
3636 6 Faulkner, and Curtistine Young; and her brothers, E.B.
3737 7 Faulkner, Douglas Faulkner, Grover Faulkner, and Roosevelt
3838 8 Faulkner; and
3939 9 WHEREAS, Mae Joyce Anderson-Farris is survived by her
4040 10 husband of 39 years, Michael J. Farris; her daughters, Kecia
4141 11 (Reverend Demetrius) Randle, Trinka Anderson, and Jalisa
4242 12 Anderson; her brother, Wardell "Ward" (Willielean) Faulkner;
4343 13 eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her godson, Tyne
4444 14 Bryson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended
4545 15 family, and friends; therefore, be it
4646 16 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
4747 17 HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
4848 18 we mourn the passing of Mary Joyce "Mae Joyce" (Faulkner)
4949 19 Anderson-Farris and extend our sincere condolences to her
