4	4	2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
5	5	3 Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Mary
6	6	4 Joyce "Mae Joyce" (Faulkner) Anderson-Farris of Peoria, who
7	7	5 passed away on February 3, 2025; and
8	8	6 WHEREAS, Mae Joyce Anderson-Farris was born to Sam and
9	9	7 Cenilious (Petty) Faulkner in Scotts, Mississippi; and
10	10	8 WHEREAS, Mae Joyce Anderson-Farris previously worked at
11	11	9 the Workforce Development Office before serving as a dedicated
12	12	10 bus driver for Peoria District 150 for many years, retiring in
13	13	11 2006; and
14	14	12 WHEREAS, Mae Joyce Anderson-Farris committed to her faith
15	15	13 at a young age and was a charter member of New Cornerstone
16	16	14 Baptist Church, where she served as an usher; and
17	17	15 WHEREAS, Mae Joyce Anderson-Farris was an avid reader, a
18	18	16 devoted watcher of soap operas and game shows, and a great
19	19	17 storyteller; and
20	20	18 WHEREAS, Mae Joyce Anderson-Farris served as a pillar of
21	21	19 strength, wisdom, and boundless love; her life was a testament
22	22	20 to faith and unwavering kindness; she was a devoted wife,

31	31	1 mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her
32	32	2 family more than anything; and
33	33	3 WHEREAS, Mae Joyce Anderson-Farris was preceded in death
34	34	4 by her parents; her sisters, Hattie B. Mason, Ida Mae Bryant,
35	35	5 Willie Sam Williams, Corine "Nell" McClain, Augusta "Snook"
36	36	6 Faulkner, and Curtistine Young; and her brothers, E.B.
37	37	7 Faulkner, Douglas Faulkner, Grover Faulkner, and Roosevelt
38	38	8 Faulkner; and
39	39	9 WHEREAS, Mae Joyce Anderson-Farris is survived by her
40	40	10 husband of 39 years, Michael J. Farris; her daughters, Kecia
41	41	11 (Reverend Demetrius) Randle, Trinka Anderson, and Jalisa
42	42	12 Anderson; her brother, Wardell "Ward" (Willielean) Faulkner;
43	43	13 eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her godson, Tyne
44	44	14 Bryson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended
45	45	15 family, and friends; therefore, be it
46	46	16 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
47	47	17 HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
48	48	18 we mourn the passing of Mary Joyce "Mae Joyce" (Faulkner)
49	49	19 Anderson-Farris and extend our sincere condolences to her
50	50	20 family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
51	51	21 further
52	52	22 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
